On June 6, 2023, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a traffic accident occurred on the federal highway B16 in the direction of Regensburg involving a car and a truck.
Upon the arrival of the firefighting units from Nittenau City Fire Department, it was discovered that several hundred liters of diesel had spilled from the truck's tank onto the road and the adjacent sewage drain. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries in the accident.
During the operation, additional support was requested from the Bergham Volunteer Fire Department and Hauzendorf Fire Department to completely close off the B16 from Nittenau South to Hauzendorf and to empty the truck's diesel tank. The road authority was also summoned to the scene to assist with a specialized company in cleaning the road and the sewage drain.
After approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, the road closure was lifted, and we were able to return to our fire station.
