On Sunday, July 7, 2024, we were able to celebrate the first birthday of our children's fire brigade. Of course, we don't want to miss the opportunity to give you a little review of everything we've experienced this year. One might think that it’s difficult to plan activities for children between the ages of 6 and 11 that are both important for daily life and can be associated with the fire brigade – but far from it!
Our topics:
- The 5 Ws of an emergency call
- The protective equipment of the fire brigade
- Recovery position
- Where does our extinguishing water come from?
- Radio exercise with digital radio and treasure hunt
- Hydrant search in the city area
- Overview of the HLF (rescue fire engine)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and “Why do we do this?”
- Rescue, recovery, extinguishing, protection, and related examples
- The fire triangle
- The smoke house: “What do I do if there is a fire at my place?”
- Bandages and splints
- Breathing protection obstacle course in the Regentalhalle
- Visit from the Brucker Blaulichtbande
- How to tie shoelaces?
- Building card houses
- Participation in the children's fire brigade Olympics
(You can also find a few pictures here.)
All of this is only possible if you have a team that is aware of its responsibility towards the children and, in addition, receives active support from the active team and – which we are particularly pleased about – also from the youth group.
A big thank you also goes to Prof. Dr. Stephan Hirt, who provided us with interesting and exciting medical lessons. Who could explain the function of the heart better than a heart surgeon?
We will keep you updated and remain true to our motto:
Honoring God, protecting our neighbors …… even in the children's fire brigade!
