Thanks to the generous support of the Versicherungskammer Bayern (Bavarian Insurance Chamber), the fire departments of Bergham and Nittenau have each received a floating strainer. A heartfelt thank you goes to the insurance office Christine Eschl for organizing this.
But what exactly is a floating strainer? With this ingenious device, we as a fire department can pump firefighting water from bodies of water or containers even at low water levels. While traditional suction baskets required a minimum water level of at least 30 cm, we now only need 5 cm! This is an invaluable advantage, especially during dry periods.
