With 35 fire department operations, June was the most active month in 2024 to date. This high number of operations was due to the weather events at the beginning of the month. In addition to flooded basements and streets, we were also called upon for an aerial ladder rescue and several traffic safety operations.
Our First Responder team was able to bridge the time until the arrival of the ambulance service with qualified first aid in a total of 33 cases.
Furthermore, our fire service personnel invested a lot of their free time in training and further education. For example, the breathing apparatus course of the Kreisbrandinspektion SAD took place here in Nittenau. We are pleased to congratulate all participants on their successful completion, including two newly qualified breathing apparatus wearers from our unit.
Despite the heavy rain, we still prepared for the forest and grass fire season. We refreshed our knowledge and practiced handling the equipment in the field. Always ready and well-trained, we are here for you – 24 hours a day, every day, all year round!
