Incident Overview
At the beginning of the month, we traditionally provided safety support for the Carnival parade in Nittenau. As the month progressed, the Volunteer Fire Department Nittenau was dispatched several times – including to assist the emergency medical services using our aerial ladder or forcible entry tools. We were also called upon to illuminate a helicopter landing zone. However, this mission – along with the Christoph Regensburg rescue helicopter – was called off, as the reported pediatric resuscitation thankfully turned out to be a false alarm.
Other incidents in March included cleaning up an oil spill and securing accident scenes after road traffic collisions.
In total, the Volunteer Fire Department of Nittenau was alerted eight times in March 2025. Particularly noteworthy are our First Responders, who were deployed 32 times to provide immediate assistance.

At our annual general meeting on March 14, 2025, we honored many of our members for their long-standing commitment to the organization. Even more encouraging is the fact that we were once again able to welcome new members to our team – a strong sign of community spirit and continuity.
Following a quieter winter period, March marked the restart of training and education activities. Several of our firefighters attended courses such as the chimney fire training and the technical rescue training (THL).
A special highlight at the end of the month was the visit by the third-grade classes of the Nittenau Primary and Middle School. As part of our fire safety education program, the students received exciting insights into the work of the fire department and learned important tips on what to do in case of a fire emergency.
